Brief
MK Weeden contracted with WY AML to reclaim the Macintosh Pit by means of filling it with spoil and overburden. The pit contained contaminated water which was burdened by a “no discharge” rule. In order to fill the pit without elevating the water level, MK Weeden designed, procured and implemented an evaporative system which, with expansion, can remove a million gallons of mine water per day from the pit.
